Key takeaways

  • You can set up your biolink.my page in about 15 minutes: sign in with Google, claim your @username, choose a category and a template.
  • Use Appearance for the look (template, button colour, background, heading font, avatar shape) and the Editor for everything you say (hero, action bar, blocks).
  • Your page autosaves as a private draft. Visitors only see it after you press Publish, and again after every Publish changes.
  • Products live in Shop, where you also set the WhatsApp number that receives every cart.
  • Once you share the link, Analytics shows views, clicks, click rate, sources, countries and devices, updated every hour.

You have heard that a link-in-bio page can turn followers into customers, and you have decided to try biolink.my. This guide shows you exactly how to set up your biolink.my page, screen by screen, from signing in to sharing your first published link.

Everything here matches the app as it works today. Follow the steps in order the first time; after that, each section works as a quick reference when you want to change one thing. If you are still deciding whether you need a link-in-bio page at all, start with what a link in bio is and why it matters.

Good to know: biolink.my is free for everyone, with no paid tiers. It is funded by one small, clearly labelled Sponsored card at the bottom of public pages. Your links, shop and forms are never interrupted by ads.

What you need before you start

Gather these before you sign in and the whole setup takes about 15 minutes:

  • A Google account (you sign in with Google)
  • The @username you want, plus a backup choice
  • A square profile photo or logo, and optionally a wide cover image
  • A one-line bio that says what you do and for whom
  • Your social profile links (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and so on)
  • Your WhatsApp number with the country code, if customers message you to order
  • The first few links you want people to tap, such as your shop, latest video or booking page

You do not need everything on day one. A page with a clear bio and one strong link is better than a page with twenty half-finished buttons.

Step 1: Sign in with Google

Go to biolink.my and choose Log in, then Continue with Google. Pick your Google account and approve the sign-in. biolink.my uses Google to confirm who you are, so there is no separate password to create or forget. Google explains what an app receives in its help page on how Sign in with Google works.

If this is your first visit, you land straight in the setup flow. If you already have a page, you land on your dashboard.

Step 2: Claim your @username

The first onboarding screen is Pick your @name. Type the name you want after biolink.my/@ and wait a moment: the hint below the field checks it as you type and says when the name is available.

Username rules are simple:

  • Lowercase letters, numbers, dots and underscores
  • Between 3 and 30 characters
  • It cannot start or end with a dot or an underscore
  • Some words are reserved, such as names of pages on the site

Choose something short that matches your social handles, so people recognise it. You can change it later in Settings, but every printed card and old post will still show the old address, so it pays to choose well now.

Tip: Say your username out loud. If you have to spell it twice ("is that two L's?"), pick a simpler one.

Step 3: Tell us what you do and pick a template

Choose your category

The What do you do? screen asks for a category. It only decides which starter blocks your page begins with; you can add, remove or change any of them later.

Onboarding categories and the blocks each one starts with
CategoryWho it is forStarter blocks
SellerYou sell products or foodWhatsApp shop with a sample product, tip jar (DuitNow QR), plus an action bar with WhatsApp, Order and Share
MusicianYou make and perform musicMusic link for your latest song, fan list sign-up form
CreatorYou make videos, art or postsVideo embed, highlighted "Work with me" link
Coach / teacherYou teach, train or consult"Book a free session" form, free resources link
Something elseCommunity, business, personalOne highlighted link to your website

Every category also starts with social icons for the platforms that suit it (for example Instagram, TikTok and WhatsApp for sellers), switched on but empty until you add your handles.

Choose a look

The Choose a look screen lists the templates. The preview on the right updates as you click, using your username and category, so you can see the real result before you commit.

The four biolink.my templates compared
TemplateLookGood fit for
Geo Sketch (default)Sunny yellow dot grid, cream panels, bold outlines and geometric doodlesAnyone who wants a friendly, playful page
Fresh TealLight grey page, pastel blobs, thin outlines, lettered link rowsCreators, coaches and clean personal brands
Golden HourWarm cream page, sunset header, orange hills and a menu-style shopCafés, home bakers and small food or craft shops
Bold TransitStreetwear poster: big capitals, checker strips, numbered rowsFashion, music, events and bold brands

All templates are free and you can switch at any time without losing your content. You can also browse every template with sample pages before you decide.

Press Create my page. The last screen confirms your page is ready at biolink.my/@yourname and reminds you that it stays private until you publish. Choose Start editing.

Step 4: Get to know the dashboard

The dashboard sidebar has seven areas: Overview, Appearance, Editor, Analytics, Shop, Leads and Settings. On a phone, the sidebar slides in from the menu button at the top.

The Overview greets you with a Next steps checklist (pick a template and colours, add a profile photo, add your first link, publish), your views and clicks for the last 7 days, your leads and a Quick add panel for common blocks.

Every dashboard page also shows a live preview of your page. On a wide screen it sits in the right-hand column; on smaller screens, tap the Preview button to open it full screen. You can switch between Phone, Large and Desktop sizes, and turn on Show hidden blocks to see blocks that visitors cannot see yet. Click any block in the preview to jump to it in the Editor.

Step 5: Set the look in Appearance

Appearance controls how your page looks, never what it says. It has two parts.

1. Template

Each template card is a scrollable preview of your own page in that template, so you are comparing your real content, not a stock example. The selected template is shown first. Each card also has a See sample page link if you want inspiration.

2. Colours and font

Make the template yours with four optional settings:

  • Button colour: the main colour of your buttons
  • Page background: the colour behind everything on your page
  • Heading font: the template's own font or one from a short curated list, used for your name and section titles
  • Avatar shape: circle, rounded or square, for your photo or initials

biolink.my only applies colours that keep text easy to read (a contrast ratio of at least 4.5:1). If a colour would make your page hard to read, you see a warning and the colour is not applied. Reset to template brings back the original look in one click.

Step 6: Build your hero in the Editor

The Editor holds all of your content. At the top is the Hero card, the header visitors see first.

Cover image and hero layout

Upload a wide cover image (it is cropped to roughly 3:1). If you skip it, the template shows its own illustrated default cover in your page colours. Then pick a Hero layout:

  • Centre: cover on top, your photo overlapping its bottom edge (the default)
  • Banner: your photo and name printed on top of the cover
  • Split: a bigger photo and name, with your bio and socials in their own panel
  • Card: everything in one card floating over your cover
  • Minimal: no cover, a small photo, short and simple

Photo, name and bio

Add your profile photo, or leave initials with an avatar colour of your choice. Set your Display name and a Bio of up to 160 characters. One clear sentence works best: what you offer, who it is for, and what to do next.

Below the bio, switch on the platforms you use and type your handle or link. The editor turns a handle into the right address for you. Icons appear in a fixed order (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X, Threads, WhatsApp, Spotify, Email), and any platform you switch off stays saved but hidden. For WhatsApp, enter your number with the country code, the same format WhatsApp uses for its click to chat links.

Step 7: Switch on the action bar

Under the Hero card is the Action bar: two to four quick buttons that stay at the bottom of the phone screen while visitors scroll. It is optional, but very effective for impatient visitors.

  1. Switch the action bar on.
  2. Choose a style: Floating (a rounded pill above your page) or Docked (a full-width bar on the bottom edge).
  3. Add two to four actions and mark one as Main, which gets your template's button colour.
Action bar buttons and what each one does
ActionWhat visitors getWhat you enter
WhatsApp chatOpens a chat with youYour number with country code, e.g. 60123456789
Phone callCalls youYour number, e.g. +60123456789

Order (your shop)Scrolls to your WhatsApp shopNothing (only offered when your page has a shop)
Share pageOpens the share menu, or copies your page linkNothing
Your own linkOpens any https:// link, such as a booking pageThe URL

Each button can have its own short label (up to 14 characters). On a big desktop screen the bar hides itself, because everything is already in view.

Step 8: Add your blocks

Blocks are everything below the hero, shown in the order you set. Press Add block (or the round yellow + button) and choose a type:

  • Link (tick Highlight this link for your most important one)
  • Header to start a new section, and Text for a short note
  • WhatsApp shop, Payment link to your own payment page, and Tip jar with a QR image such as DuitNow
  • Video / embed for YouTube, TikTok or Spotify, and Music link for one song on several platforms
  • Countdown for launches and deadlines, and Lead form to collect sign-ups
  • Image, Divider and Social icons (extra row)

Reorder blocks by dragging the handle or with the Up and Down buttons, and use Duplicate or Delete as needed. Any block can be hidden, or given a Schedule with "Show from" and "Hide after" times, so a festive promo can appear and disappear by itself. Every link is checked for scams before it goes live.

Tip: Put your single most important action first: the highlighted link, the shop or the booking form. Visitors decide quickly, and many never scroll to the bottom.

Step 9: Set up your shop and WhatsApp orders

If you sell, open Shop. This is the only place to edit products:

  1. Press Add product and enter a name, a price in RM, an optional description and a placeholder colour. You can upload a photo once it is added.
  2. Under WhatsApp ordering, enter your WhatsApp number with the country code and no spaces (for example 60123456789), and an optional Note under the cart, such as delivery days.
  3. Check Recent carts to see the carts visitors sent to your WhatsApp.

Visitors pick products and quantities on your page, then one tap sends a fully written order to your chat. biolink.my never handles the money; you confirm payment in your chat. Our guide to selling on WhatsApp from Instagram and TikTok covers the full order workflow.

Step 10: Publish your page

While you edit, the page saves itself and you see Draft saved. Nothing is public yet. The status next to the preview always tells you where you stand:

  • Draft — not live yet: you have never published
  • Unpublished changes: visitors still see the last published version
  • Live — up to date: what you see is what visitors see

When you are happy, press Publish my page. Later edits show Publish changes instead. Once published, you can open the live page or copy its link from the preview.

Your public address is biolink.my/@yourname. Typing it without the @ also works, because biolink.my/yourname redirects to your page. When you paste the link into WhatsApp, Facebook or other apps, it shows a generated share card with your name and photo.

Put the link in the website or link field of every profile you use (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, Threads), in your WhatsApp Business profile, and on stickers, cards and packaging. For more ideas on getting traffic to your page, read our 15 online marketing tactics for sellers.

Step 12: Check your analytics

After a few days, open Analytics. Stats are cookieless, updated every hour, and your own visits are not counted. For the last 7 or 30 days you see:

  • Views and unique visitors, plus your best day and a views-per-day chart
  • Clicks and click rate (clicks per view)
  • Clicks by block, so you know which links people actually tap
  • Traffic sources, countries and devices

You can download your numbers as a CSV file. The Editor also shows each block's clicks over the last 30 days right on its row, so you can spot a link nobody taps while you edit.

Settings worth a look

Settings holds your account basics: change your username, turn email alerts for new leads on or off, download a copy of all your data (page, blocks, products, leads and WhatsApp carts), or delete your account. Leads lists every lead form sign-up and the WhatsApp carts visitors sent.

Your first-week checklist

  1. Publish your page with a clear bio and at least one highlighted link.
  2. Add the link to every social profile you use.
  3. Add your WhatsApp number to the hero socials, the action bar or the shop.
  4. Post once telling people what they will find at your link.
  5. After seven days, check which block gets the most clicks and move it to the top.

Conclusion

Setting up your biolink.my page comes down to a simple rhythm: Appearance for the look, the Editor for your content, Shop for products, Publish to go live and Analytics to learn what works. Start small, publish early and improve one thing each week. To see everything the platform can do, browse the full feature list.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to pay to set up a biolink.my page?

No. biolink.my has no paid plans, so every template and feature is free. The service is funded by one small Sponsored card at the bottom of public pages, never between your links.

Can I sign up with email instead of Google?

At the time of writing, accounts are created with Continue with Google only. The emailed sign-in link on the login page is reserved for the site owner. Google explains what it shares with apps in How Sign in with Google works.

Can I change my @username later?

Yes. Go to Settings and edit "Your page address". Usernames use lowercase letters, numbers, dots and underscores, and must be 3 to 30 characters. Remember to update the link in your social bios after a change.

Will switching templates delete my links?

No. Your hero and blocks are stored separately from the look, so you can switch templates in Appearance as often as you like. Only a custom colour that would be hard to read on the new template goes back to that template's own colour.

Why is my page not showing my latest changes?

Edits are saved as a draft first. Check the status next to the preview: "Unpublished changes" means visitors still see the last published version. Press Publish changes to update the live page.

How do I add my biolink.my link to Instagram or TikTok?

Copy your address (biolink.my/@yourname) from the dashboard and paste it into the website or link field when you edit your profile in each app. Our guide to what a link in bio is covers where that field lives.

Can I hide a block without deleting it?

Yes. Every block can be hidden, and any block can get a schedule with "Show from" and "Hide after" times, which is handy for promos that should appear and disappear on their own.
